PLEASE READ SO YOU WILL BETTER UNDERSTAND THE DMV PROCESS TO LEGALLY DRIVE

If you have been convicted of a DUI the Law now requires you to install an ‘Interlock Device’ There are certain procedures you must follow to be able to legally drive. DO NOT drive at any time you are not legal to drive as the penalties may be severe. The best number to call if you have any questions about your status is Mandatory Actions Sacramento (916)-657-6525. There may be a slight hold but they are very helpful and informative, but beware they are not always consistent with your status.

You must do these things listed herein to LEGALLY DRIVE.

You are suspended from _________ to __________. After that date you are ELGIBLE TO DRIVE IF:

1. You are enrolled in an alcohol program
2. You call your insurance company and have them fie an SR-22 which is legal proof of insurance.
3. Call interlock installers and set an appointment to install the interlock. Takes about 2 hours and they will give you a certificateonce installed.
4. Go to any DMV and bring the certificate and pay a reissue fee of about $125 and the DMV will give you a license

When your interlock period is over, you will go back to the DMV and pay another fee to get full license back
